Germany, 2018 (history-drama, 169 min) Dir.: Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck.  With: Tom Schilling, Sebastian Koch, Paula Beer.  German artist Kurt Barnert has escaped East Germany and now lives in West Germany, but is tormented by his childhood under the Nazis and the GDR-regime. Nominee Best Foreign Language Film Oscar 2017.

Abraham Bursztein, an 88 year-old Jewish tailor, runs away from Buenos Aires to Poland, where he proposes to find a friend who saved him from certain death at the end of World War II.

Two extended Haida Gwaii families gather for their annual summer fishing retreat. During the retreat, Adiits’ii accidentally causes the death of his best friend’s son, runs into the wilderness and spirals into insanity. On 12 August 1945 at 11AM, two mysterious strangers dressed in black appear at the railway station of a Hungarian village. Within a few hours, everything changes. Annie, the long-suffering girlfriend of Duncan, has an unlikely transatlantic romance with once revered, now faded, singer-songwriter, Tucker Crowe, also the subject of Duncan’s musical obsession.
